How to Patch Test

A Simple Step for Happier Skin

Patch testing helps you understand how your skin responds to a new product before applying it more broadly.

It takes just a few minutes and can prevent unnecessary irritation.

How to Patch Test

  1. Apply a small amount of product to a discreet area of skin
Common spots include the inner forearm, behind the ear, or along the jawline.

  2. Leave the area uncovered and do not wash for 24 hours.

  3. Observe for any signs of irritation such as redness, itching, burning, or discomfort.

  4. If no reaction occurs, the product is generally considered suitable for your skin.

Helpful Tips

  • Patch test every new product, even if you have used similar formulas before

  • If you have highly sensitive skin, consider extending the test to 48 hours

  • Introduce only one new product at a time

  • If irritation occurs, discontinue use

Patch testing is not a guarantee, but it is a helpful first step toward building a routine your skin can tolerate and enjoy.
