Natural Products & Ingredients Variability
At Smitty’s Little Farm, our skincare products are made in small batches using thoughtfully selected, plant-based ingredients. Because we work with natural botanicals, some variation from one batch to the next is a normal and expected part of our process.
Seasonal changes, weather patterns, and growing conditions can influence the natural characteristics of herbs. These factors may affect the appearance, scent, or texture of an ingredient, and in turn, the final product.
Why does my product look or smell slightly different than the last one I ordered?
Our products are made using natural ingredients rather than standardized synthetic components. As a result, subtle differences between batches can occur. These variations reflect the natural character of the botanicals used and the conditions under which they were grown and harvested.
What kinds of variation should I expect?
You may notice small, natural differences in:
-
Color
-
Scent
-
Texture
These variations are cosmetic in nature and do not change how the product is intended to be used.
Does variation mean the formula has changed?
No. Each product is made using the same formulation and process. Any differences you notice are due to natural variation in the ingredients themselves, not changes to the recipe.
Why don’t you standardize every batch?
We choose not to overly process or mask the natural qualities of our ingredients. Allowing these characteristics to come through is part of our small-batch approach and reflects our commitment to transparency and thoughtful formulation.
Are products with natural variation still safe to use?
Yes. All products are made for external cosmetic use only and are created to meet our internal quality standards. Natural variation does not indicate a defect or issue with the product.
