Getting Ready for Market Season (Even While Winter Lingers)

Getting Ready for Market Season (Even While Winter Lingers)

While winter may still have a firm grip on the Western Slope, things at Smitty’s Little Farm are already buzzing with activity. This quieter season is when much of the behind-the-scenes work happens—work that won’t fully reveal itself for months, but is essential to everything we bring to you throughout the year.

And we’re especially excited because the Delta Farmers Market & Bazaar kicks off May 2nd, and we’re getting ready.

Market Season Is Coming!

The Delta Farmers Market & Bazaar is one of our favorite places to connect with our community. It’s where we get to talk plants, products, and everyday rituals with folks who value locally made, thoughtfully crafted goods as much as we do.

As opening day approaches, we’re pouring, labeling, blending, and preparing market favorites—along with a few surprises we’ve been quietly working on all winter long.

Find Us Year-Round at The Cottage Boutique

If market day feels too far away (we understand), you can find a selection of Smitty’s Little Farm products all year long at The Cottage Boutique.

Whether you’re restocking a favorite or discovering something new, it’s a great way to keep our products part of your routine no matter the season.

Always Creating, Always Experimenting

One thing that never stops around here is product development.

We’re constantly exploring new ways to work with Western Slope plants - plants that grow right here in our unique climate and landscape. Winter is an especially important time for this. Many of the infusions, extracts, and preparations we start now won’t be ready for months, sometimes much longer.

This slow work is intentional. It allows plants the time they need to share what they have to offer, naturally and gently.

Some of what we’re working on now won’t appear until late summer… or even next year. And that’s exactly how we like it.

Here to Help (Thoughtfully and Responsibly)

We’re always happy to help you find products that support your skin or fit into your overall self-care routine. While we don’t diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions, we do listen carefully and offer guidance based on our experience with ingredients, textures, and daily use.

Sometimes that means helping you find something soothing.
Sometimes it means helping you simplify.
Sometimes it just means answering questions.

If you’re unsure where to start, ask us. We’re always glad to help in whatever way we responsibly can.

Gifts, Homes & Pets Included

In addition to personal care products, we also make items for your home and your pets, because care doesn’t stop with people.

We also love creating special holiday edition gift bags, thoughtfully curated and seasonally inspired. These limited offerings are perfect for gifting - or for treating yourself - and they change throughout the year as ingredients and inspiration shift.

Keep an eye out as the seasons roll forward… holiday planning starts earlier than you might think.

Winter Is Our Foundation Season

While it may look quiet from the outside, winter is one of our busiest times. This is when we start long infusions, test new ideas, refine formulas, and prepare the groundwork for everything you’ll see at the market and beyond.

Nothing here is rushed.
Nothing is accidental.

Every product begins long before it reaches your hands.

See You Soon!

Mark your calendar for May 2nd and come see us at the Delta Farmers Market & Bazaar. Stop by our booth, ask questions, smell everything, and see what we’ve been quietly building all winter long.

Until then, you can find us at The Cottage Boutique, explore our growing collection of products for people, homes, and pets, and know that we’re always working—slowly, thoughtfully, and locally - to bring you something meaningful.

We’re so glad you’re here.
